TxGAP has three standing committees: Professional Development, Research/Strategy, and Membership.  Each of these is vital to making TxGAP a valuable organization for each individual member and in growing our chapter’s strength.

Professional Development/Strategic Initiatives 

Professional Development

  • Creates networking opportunities and builds collaboration among TxGAP member institutions and Chapter members
  • Collaborates with the Research/Strategy Committee to develop educational opportunities citing current trends in areas of interest to members
  • Prepares professional learning sessions and materials for members
  • Works with categorizing professional learning pieces in different roles of Enrollment Management; e.g., sessions focused on recruitment, marketing, admissions, process, technology, student services, international, trends, how to, diversity, etc.
  • Strategizes dates and places to hold regional events to best accommodate TxGAP’s large constituency; e.g. networking at various fall graduate fairs


  • Researches and discusses the latest trends and best practices in the field
  • Gathers data about other programs and makes comparisons
  • Collaborates with the Professional Development Committee to determine current trends in areas of interest to members
  • Educates members on ranking surveys – consistency in reporting metrics, etc.
  • Provides communication to the Chapter in the form of blogs, posts, articles, and other means to benefit members
  • Encourages members to submit articles to the Chair of NAGAP’s Publications Committee for potential printing inPerspectives
  • Serves as a resource to the corporate community and state and local officials


  • Works with NAGAP’s Membership Chair to identify Texas contacts and new initiatives
  • Assists Communications Officer with developing publicity and registration materials related to membership
  • Strategizes networking opportunities to gain new members
  • Considers viability of marketing and/or meeting at graduate fairs
  • Solicits corporate employers as Chapter partners
